What are 5 things holding you back in your Christian walk?

1. Fear of Failure - Do you often find yourself worrying about not living up to the expectations of others or not being able to do what you feel God is calling you to do?

2. Distractions - It's very easy to be distracted by the world and it's at times hard to stay focused on what's important.

3. Lack of Accountability - Do you often struggle with having someone to hold you accountable and encourage you to stay on track?

4. Doubts - I sometimes doubt whether God is really listening to me or if He is really there with me.

5.Discipline- With so many other things going on are you finding it hard to make time for prayer, reading the Bible, and being with other Christians?

What does the bible say about failure? The Bible teaches us that failure is not the end. In Romans 8:37-39 we read, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This passage reminds us that no matter how frequently we fail, we can never be separated from God's love. The Bible also teaches us that failure should never stop us from trying again. Philippians 3:14 says, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” We can take comfort in knowing that failure should never hinder us from striving for something greater.

What does the Bible say about distraction? The Bible has a lot to say about distractions and how we should manage them. In Philippians 4:8, Paul encourages us to think about whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise. This is a great reminder to stay focused on things that are important and not to be distracted by things that are not. Additionally, Proverbs 4:25-27 reminds us to pay attention to our path and not be sidetracked by vanity and the enticement of evil. Lastly, 1 Corinthians 7:35 encourages us to be single-minded and not be distracted by the cares of this world. All in all, the Bible encourages us to stay focused and not to allow distractions to prevent us from living in a way that honors God.

What does the Bible say about lack of accountability? The Bible emphasizes the importance of personal accountability. Proverbs 28:13 states, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” This verse encourages us to take responsibility for our actions and repent when we have done wrong. In addition, Ecclesiastes 12:14 says, “For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” This verse reminds us that lack of accountability is not an option, since God will ultimately hold us accountable for our actions. Ultimately, the Bible encourages us to be honest and accountable in all our dealings.

What does the Bible say about Doubts? The Bible has a lot to say about doubts. According to James 1:6-8, it says that when we are faced with doubts, we should ask God for wisdom, and He will provide it generously. It also says in Romans 8:28 that God can use our doubts and struggles to draw us closer to Him. He can use them to help us grow in our faith and trust Him more. Additionally, it is important to remember that God understands our doubts and is willing to help us if we come to Him.

What does the Bible say about discipline? The Bible talks a great deal about discipline and its importance in a person's life. Proverbs 13:24 says, “Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.” Proverbs 22:15 also says, “Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far away.” Additionally, Hebrews 12:5-11 speaks of the importance of discipline and chastisement. It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one, he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son. Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

Summary- Take some time, carve it out in your schedule as you do for everything else. Get in the Word so you are Spirit focused not world focused. That way you will know God has a plan for you, He is with you through it all. Pray and go to Church. Reach out for accountability and write it or schedule it on your calendar like you do for all other appointments and meetings. You truly are so valuable!

Love and blessings,
